Can you help Nero?

Nero needs urgent surgery, Nero has Brachycephalic airway syndrome. It is a term that describes a set of anatomical features in a dog’s airway that cause increased resistance to movement of air.

This means Nero really struggles to do normal day to day things. Going for a walk like any dog should be able to do can cause real distress to his breathing; it also causes noisy breathing, difficulty breathing, reduced exercise tolerance, vomiting, collapse, and difficulty coping with warm weather.

Nero struggles to walk more than 10 minutes without difficulty, he is desperate to play ball off lead but becomes too out of breath he is sick or collapses.

The operation we would like to give them would allow his airways to be opened up and make the rest of his life much more comfortable and enjoyable. The surgery will cost approximately £3,000

This would be done by a specialist vet at Bay Vets called Chris who has had lots of successful results from this surgery. Nero has been to see Chris for an assessment and he feels he would hugely benefit from the surgery.
