She could have died – we were there to help

There is nothing more powerful than hearing from one of the families our crisis team has supported. For Eunice and Babs, Twins Trust was there by their side through some of their darkest and most challenging moments. David and Faith were born in December 2023. Their parents, Eunice and Babs, had spent more than 20 years trying to conceive.

But days after giving birth, Eunice had a cardiac arrest, leaving her on life support. The doctors said she wouldn’t make it.

Eunice managed to pull through but was left too weak to look after her babies. Babs was having to split his time visiting her, with caring for newborn twins at home. An impossible situation.

Thankfully, Twins Trust's Family Crisis Support team stepped in to support the family in their hour of need.

Trained volunteers and a senior staff member were on hand for the family, visiting them and helping with basic household tasks and giving vital advice for looking after the babies.

Our crisis service has never been busier. Our waiting list means that families in need of urgent help are forced to wait. We don’t want to keep families like Eunice’s waiting.
