Story
This winter, more people than ever are turning to us for warmth, food, and support. But as demand rises, so do our running costs, and we need your help to keep our Drop-In Centre open.
Our Drop-In Centre is a safe, welcoming space for people experiencing homelessness and isolation. Each session, we provide hot meals, showers, clean clothes, and a warm place to rest.
– It costs £9.58 each day to fuel and charge our vehicles. The Friary vans are used to collect and deliver donations, and they are also used to help move people into their accommodation.
– It costs £28.27 to feed our service users for a day. We provide a free hot breakfast each session, and while much of this includes donated goods such as tinned beans, tea, coffee, jams and spreads, there are also perishable breakfast items that we must purchase. This includes bread, milk, sausages, bacon and eggs.
– It costs £54.30 each day for our utilities. This includes light and heating for the centre, providing a warm, comforting atmosphere. It also includes the daily running costs of our showers and laundry facilities. The simple act of taking a hot shower and putting on some clean clothes is essential to maintaining dignity and wellbeing for our service users.
Therefore, each Drop-In Centre session costs £92.15, and this doesn’t include rent, salaries or cost of maintenance and repairs.
Your donation can help.
Every pound you give this winter goes directly towards keeping our Drop-In Centre running and helping people in crisis. Together, we can make sure no one faces this winter alone.
Please donate today and help us keep our Drop-In Centre open.
