Who is it obligatory on to pay Fitrana (Sadaqatul Fitr)?

Fitrana is obligatory (wajib) charity that one must pay to the poor before Eid Prayer

Any Muslim who has food in excess of their needs (zakah threshold) must pay Sadaqatul Fitr (Fitrana). Unlike Zakat, it is a duty on everyone in your household. Therefore, the head of the household, or parents and guardians, can pay on behalf of other members of the family.

Every Muslim should pay Fitrana if a dependent is unable to make a payment, the head of the household should make the payment on their behalf. It is important that a payment is made for every household member.
