Story
We need a combined otoscope/ophthalmoscope at a cost of £400 to use at our Church Knowle, Rehoming and Visitor Centre. .
Having easy access to an otoscope/ ophthalmoscope would mean we could assess the rescue cats, rabbits and guinea pigs when they first come in. This piece of equipment is vital to be able to examine their ears and eyes to identify early on whether they may need any treatment. By having our own otoscope/ophtalmoscope it would mean we could also keep a check on any ear or eye conditions that are detected. It will minimise our vet costs too by cutting down on the number of visits to the vet our animals would need.
By carrying these checks out on site it will minimise the stress for the animals, which is often caused when transporting to the vets so soon after coming into rescue - a stressful time in itself as they are adjusting to new surroundings and routines.
The cost of an otoscope/ophthalmoscope is £400 and we are appealing to you to help us fund buying one so we can continue to help rescue animals.
All money raised from this appeal will help us to care for rescue animals at our centres.
