Support International Cheetah Day in Samburu – 6 December 2025

Every year on International Cheetah Day, Action for Cheetahs in Kenya (ACK) joins hands with local communities to celebrate and protect one of Africa’s most iconic species – the cheetah. On 6th December 2025, we will host a community-centered event in Samburu, filled with learning, celebration, and fun. Sport is a powerful way to bring people together, and through this tournament, we will share cheetah facts and updates from the field to raise awareness about conservation in the region. This year’s celebration will include a football tournament, goal kick, pepeta challenge (ball juggling), and cheetah trivia where local teams will play for conservation or sports-themed prizes.

Samburu is a remote region with costly transport and challenging terrain, making it difficult to bring communities together. That is why we are reaching out to conservation and nature lovers like you to help make this event possible. By giving to this cause, you are not only helping us celebrate International Cheetah Day, but also ensuring that conservation education is passed down to future generations in a fun and engaging way.

Your contribution will directly support:

Our fundraising goal is $ 5000. The total cost of the event includes purchase of balls, prizes and equipment, staff costs (logistics, referees, medic, MC), team transport, tshirts and food for teams and spectators. The event will cost a total of about $20,000 for which we have raised nearly $15,000 in sponsors thus far. We remain with the following:

* Prizes for football teams and challenge participants ($1500)

* Lunch for all participants and community members ($800 - $300 already received = $500)

* Transport to ensure player from remote areas can join us.($2500)
