Story
At Hagar we are passionate about supporting new life for survivors of slavery, trafficking, or abuse. And this new life isnt just for a short time. We walk the Whole Journey with a survivor to ensure that they have healed and are able to thrive.
The Whole Journey program looks different for every survivor - whatever it takes, for as long as it takes.
In Vietnam, for Sokha and her husband Lay, their key to a new life of happiness and financial security was an egg. Well actually, a chicken rearing business.
Sokha and Lay were unable to support their two children and were tricked and trafficked to Thailand. They were in huge debt to their traffickers and couldnt send money home to their two vulnerable children.
After being sent back to Vietnam by police, they were referred to Hagar. Hagar provided counselling and when they were ready helped them to assess what kind of business might do well in their community. They found that selling chickens could be a good source of stable income for the family.
Hagar helped the couple develop a business plan, build a coop near their house, and buy their first chickens.
Now Sokha and Lay are able to support themselves and their family.
With Hagars support, we are now together with our children, we have a stable income, and we can send our children to school Sokha
Please donate today and help Hagar support survivors of slavery heal, thrive and be empowered for their new life.
