26.2 Miles to Lift Us All
On 19th April, our Chair of Trustees, Adam Mellor, will stand on the start line of the Manchester Marathon.
26.2 miles.
That’s twice as far as he’s ever run before!
He’s not doing it for a medal. He’s not doing it for a personal best. He’s doing it for something far more important — access for all at SCB’s new premises.
As we are now in our new building, one major priority remains: installing a lift so every person we support can access every part of the space. No being limited to the ground floor. No missed opportunities. No barriers.
Adam knows this won’t be easy. Long training runs. Cold mornings. Legs that don’t want to move. The mental battle that comes when you’ve already gone further than you ever have before — and still have miles left to go.
But that’s the point.
Just like the people we support push through challenges every day, Adam is pushing beyond his own limits to make sure our new home is truly inclusive.
Every donation helps turn effort into impact. Every pound brings us closer to a building where everyone can move freely and take part fully.
Let’s back him.
Let’s remove barriers.
Let’s make every mile count. 💜
