Story
To commemorate Oxford United's 125th Anniversary on Saturday 27th October the Yellow Army will be walking from the very place the club was founded, The Britannia Inn in Headington, to their current home, The Kassam Stadium.
The 4 mile walk will start at 11:00am and arrive at the stadium before the game against Shrewsbury Town.
Previous Yellow Army charity walks have raised thousands of pounds for the Oxford United Community Trust as well as local charities. This year the money raised will go to the Community Trust and Oxfordshire Mind.
Oxford United in the Community is the football clubs official charity and its dedicated team helps inspire youngsters to reach their potential and improve their health and wellbeing via the power of football, engagement and education.
Oxfordshire Mind are part of the network of Mind associations working for better mental health across England and Wales. 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem at some point in our lives and suicide is the most common cause of death for men aged 20-49 years in England and Wales. Its befitting that the Yellow Army have selected Oxfordshire Mind as the second beneficiary of the walk in the season when the EFL and Mind launched its national On Your Side partnership.
