Displacement, Extreme Poverty, Natural Hazards, Drought, Flash Floods, Climate Change, & Conflict. These are a few reasons why South Asia is currently facing major crisis. We must ACT NOW to help SAVE LIVES.

Last year Pakistan, India, Bangladesh & Afghanistan faced multiple large scale disasters, Pakistan & Afghanistan experienced the worst drought in decades. This year alone an estimated 10 million people will be affected by the severe drought in Afghanistan. Thus conditions as such will only further contribute to high levels of child malnutrition along with promoting the spread of water-borne diseases endangering many lives.

Furthermore conflict in the South Asia region has also resulted in mass cross border displacement, around 9.3 million people are currently affected by conflict in Afghanistan. A further 2 million are also internally displaced within Pakistan.

Likewise the number of Rohingya refugees displaced in Bangladesh grew to just under 1 million last year. They are now residing in overgrown camps & are at high risk of disease out breaks, extreme poverty, flooding, abuse & exploitation.

With reference to natural hazards the recent floods in Nepal & devastating landslides last year have left thousands of people affected damaging schools, homes, & medical facilities.

Similarly floods in Kerala India also affected more than 23 million people last year, leaving many displaced & with broken livelihoods.

With such an urgent need for humanitarian assistance in the South Asia region we need your support.
