Story
On Sunday 22 September 2019 super endurance cyclist Georgina Cleere from Basildon will be cycling an amazing 166 miles across the county in one day visiting 9 of our centres to raise awareness of Essex Wildlife Trust and celebrate our 60th anniversary year.
Georgina started cycling in 2014 and joined Essex Roads Cycling Club to get fit and make new friends. She quickly discovered a real passion for long distance cycling and has spent countless hours cycling through the beautiful Essex countryside.
Georgina is no stranger to cycling feats of endurance, to date she has cycled in excess of 65,000 miles and has competed in six 24 hour events including the annual Revolve24 event at Brands Hatch. She cycled 2,400 miles solo and unsupported across Europe and her ultimate aim is to complete the Race Across America (RAAM).
Georgina said Im really pleased and excited to be embarking on this special challenge for Essex Wildlife Trust. Having previously worked on an Essex nature reserve, I know how important it is to protect nature now and for future generations.
Georgina will be cycling 166 miles, climbing 6,200 feet and visiting 9 Essex Wildlife Trust visitor centres - all in one day.
