The end of Covid-19 is not yet in sight in the Namatala slum in fact it's still escalating. We will continue feeding and supporting slum families during December, January and February at the cost of around £15,000. Could you donate to help?

The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Child of Hope is producing a huge social impact for children and their families in Eastern and Northern Uganda through free education, healthcare, clothing, food and welfare. Each donation goes to our work in the slums of Mbale and Karamoja and gets straight to work improving lives and communities.
Story
This year, Child of Hope's work changed when Ugandan schools were forced to close due to Covid-19. We have done everything possible to continue educating our pupils including home visits by teachers.
Additionally, over the last eight months we gave out regular food vouchers to around 700 families (to feed approximately 5,600 people). That's the 600 families of our pupils, plus any other desperately needy families found by our social workers in the slum. The food supplied totalled 39 tons of maize flour and 17 tons of beans, plus 6,000 packets of salt and over 3 tons of soap.
Now we need your help again; Covid-19 is still escalating in the Namatala slum. We want to continue feeding and supporting these families with traditional maize flour and beans during December, January and February at a cost of around £15,000.
In December we also provided a Christmas meal of rice, meat and vegetables for each of our school children's families; it was a very special nutrition input on a day of celebration, despite ongoing restrictions, which have seriously reduced food availability and inflated prices.
Any additional funds over our target will be used to support slum children and families throughout the year.
