Story
Women and particularly women of colour are impacted more by climate change, but are not equally represented in climate decision-making. Their needs and priorities are being overlooked, leading to less effective climate solutions.
According to She Changes Climate, only 7% of the people that made up heads of delegations at COP26 were women.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Working together with women's and community groups across the UK, the Climate Sisters programme is platforming their vision, concerns and needs for a green, safe and caring economy. Thanks to this programme, marginalised voices are being included in Feminist Green New Deal policy papers and an action plan for policy makers to enact.
There are still many more women and diverse groups that should be heard by policy makers. With your support we can amplify their voices.
lf we do not do anything about it now, it will be too late to reverse these effects. It is about playing a part as an individual/cluster group /community/city/country and the world as a whole. This is our time to leave a footprint of change in whatever field we are in. - Siphiwe Mungoni, Climate Sister
All funds raised will support our Climate Sisters programme - bringing more women and diverse groups to the climate table.
I knew climate change was a big issue but I didnt realize there was a Conference to discuss it globally. Attending COP26 was such a revelation of how climate change is linked to most of the issues we face in our communities Lils - SAWN, Climate Sister
