Story
For over 40 years Housing for Women has been helping women and children in London escaping domestic violence and abuse, and over the last 10 years, we have broadened our support services to include women who have been trafficked into the UK for exploitation and mothers leaving prison.
Our unique projects meet gaps in public services, working with some of the most marginalised groups in the UK. Our beneficiaries include abused women and children left with no choice but to flee, mothers leaving prison who would otherwise be homeless and trafficked women, who have often experienced unspeakable brutality at the hands of their abusers. These women are largely hidden in our society, isolated and extremely vulnerable. Put simply, they need our help.
In the words of Maria, a brave survivor of trafficking: "As an asylum seeker, its so hard to navigate an unfamiliar the system with little English...Housing for Women was there for me, every step of the way. My support worker helped improve my confidence and helped me to help myself. If I had to go alone, I couldn't have done it. I don't think I could have survived without Housing for Women...I now feel in control of my own life. "
Please donate today and turn your small change into lasting change for women in London escaping domestic abuse, survivors of trafficking and women leaving prison. Help us reach our target and raise £50,000 throughout September.
