Story
"Fundraising helps enable our school to be successful despite the harsh financial environment confronting all state schools, in which small rural schools like ours are generally the worse hit in terms of funding per pupil." - Andy de Cruz - Parent Link Governor, says it like it is!
We unfortunately live in a time when schools are vastly underfunded and sadly little village schools like Blackawton Primary School tend to be hit extremely hard. In turn it means that parents, friends and family of children who attend the school, or even just super kind people who can see how much help is needed, step up to the plate and work their socks off to raise as much as they can to support the school in any way that they can.
By running small, medium and large fundraisers we aim to raise as much money as we can in order to provide the school with materials and resources that the it simply would not be able to afford otherwise.
Recent fundraising efforts have meant that we have been able to maintain and improve our forest school area and vegetable garden (see pic above), we have been able to purchase and lay wood chip all around our running track, buy books and stationary for the classrooms and provide PSHE training for the teachers.
We are currently working towards buying new books, general classroom materials, a new iPad to be shared between classes, improving the play area between nursery and class 1 and creating a mural by the wooden balance beams in the bottom playground for the children.
This crowdfunding page has been set up because your help is needed now more than ever. So please, however you can help - whether that's by setting up your own fundraising campaign for us or if you just simply want to donate a fiver, you can do it here. It's safe, easy and a fantastic way to help this amazing school and all the children that attend.
