Story

The story

This March, Chris Hall is pushing himself to the limit to support the town he loves.

From Tuesday 17 March to Thursday 19 March, Chris will take on a 60-hour endurance challenge in Mercian Square, Redditch:

🚲 cycling for 12 hours a day on a static bike

❄️ sleeping rough outdoors overnight between each day

⏰ repeating this over three days — 60 hours in total

This challenge is a powerful visual representation of what many people in Redditch are experiencing every day.

Life can feel like a constant uphill cycle — juggling rising bills, work and family pressures, worries about children’s mental health or education, and for some, the fear of homelessness. Many people are struggling to sleep, exhausted by stress and uncertainty.

Chris is doing this to raise funds for three local charities, all based in Redditch and working closely together:

💙 Acts of Kindness – wellbeing support, financial inclusion and food support

💙 Christians Against Poverty (CAP) – free, face-to-face FCA registered debt advice

💙 BEN’s – vital support for children struggling with mental health and education

These services only exist because the community comes together to support them.

Why this matters

The need in Redditch is increasing.

More people are facing financial crisis, food insecurity and homelessness. At the same time, children and young people are struggling with their mental health and finding it hard to cope in education.

Funding is especially critical this year as rising costs have hit the charity sector hard. Even though these services are largely volunteer-led, without funding they simply cannot continue.

Every donation made through this page will stay local, helping Redditch residents when they need it most.

Real impact

One local man (name changed), Bob, lost his job and was issued an eviction notice. Through support from Acts of Kindness, CAP and the foodbank, he received benefits advice, debt support, food help and wellbeing support. Bob is now debt free, securely housed, and looking to the future with hope.

This is the difference your donation makes.

Fundraising target

🎯 £1,500

All funds raised will be shared between the three charities to maintain vital local support services.
