We support people to help rebuild lives after stroke.

Story

OUR TEAM - ALLISON BROWN, MARTIN NICHOLSON, MIKE STOREY and STEVE PRANKARD are planning to walk Wainwright's Coast to Coast path, starting Sunday 5th May 2013 from St Bees Head in Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay in North Yorkshire to raise funds for The Stroke Association. We will be supported along the way by our very good friends, Andy (Trucks) Harrison and Kevin (the Chef) Moore to whom we are so very grateful.

The path is 192 miles of hills and dales, cutting across the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and finally the North York Moors. We hope to complete it in 12 days, and will use a combination of camp sites and wild camps throughout.

We are doing this, because a close relative of Mike's has recently suffered a debilitating stroke. It has left him severely paralysed and unable to care for himself. The Stroke Association are doing all they can to support him and his family through a very difficult time, but obviously funds are limited. The Association - supporting some 150,000 victims a year in the UK alone - also suffers to an extent from the greater visibility given by the press and the media to the more popular charities and associated annual events.

We are grateful to you for visiting our JustGiving page and hope that you will dig deep to support us in this endeavour to raise much needed funds for the Stroke Association.

Donating through JustGiving is really easy, fast and totally secure. It will also save the Stroke Association time and therefore money. Your details are safe with JustGiving and they will never sell them on or send unwanted e-mails. Once you donate, your money will be sent directly to the Association who in turn will make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. Please remember to tick the Gift Aid box!

We all hope that you will consider what we are doing and why we are doing it to be worthwhile and that you will donate as much as you can afford to help the victims of Strokes.

We will post regular updates on this site and of course, you are more than welcome to join us at St Bees on Sunday 5 May for the start of the walk. We'd love to see you there to give us a send off!

THANK YOU.

Allison, Martin, Mike and Steve
