Story
Hi
My name is Brian Devlin a 44 yr old adult with a cleft lip and palate.
I came across the Operation Smile website recently and was struck by the stark fact that $240 can fund a cleft repair. It's not a lot of money to change a life forever, is it? Operation Smile works in numerous countries around the world where surgery is only performed on those who can afford it. This leaves thousands of kids left to face life with unrepaired cleft lip and palate.
How good would it feel, that a contribution so small could result in giving somone the chance to live a normal life? Well for me at least it would feel pretty damn good. These missions to treat kids can't treat everyone -some people are turned away and told to come back next year - this is devastating to the children and their families.
I would like to propose as a group that we "BUY SOME SMILES FOR CHRISTMAS" Having successfully raised enough for one smile, and then 2 then 3 I have changed the target amount to £2520- enough for 18 smiles!!! I know we can do this. Please tell your friends, relatives and wokmates. So what do you say guys? $240 = £140 approx - Not much for a smile is it? Big thanks to Jennifer for letting me use her priceless smile here!!!
Brian
