On July 18th 2009, six intrepid muppets will be lining up with several hundred other idiots at Goodwood Motor Circuit - along with hundreds more departing from Milan and Barcelona - to embark on an ill-advised, underpowered, poorly provisioned and extremely dangerous journey through Europe and Asia.
Without a support team, adequate road maps or any real language skills we will drive inappropriate cars through deserts, over mountains, across rivers and into every pothole between here and Mongolia, eventually arriving - with a little luck and a lot of gaffer tape - around a month later in Ulaanbaatar.
While the trip will no doubt be a fantastic experience it also has a serious side. Between now and July we will be raising money for the Christina Noble Children's Foundation, an organisation devoted to helping homeless and at-risk children in Ulaanbaatar. The Foundation rescues these children from a life of abuse, homelessness and despair and offers them education, medical care and the chance for a real future.
When we arrive in Mongolia we will be donating our vehicles and much of our equipment to the Foundation, but until then we need your help to raise as much as possible for this worthy cause.
Thank you so much,
The Brown Cow Independent Taxi Team.
