Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Your donation is supporting our Brave The Waves campaign that will culminate in the Girlguiding Surrey West Centenary Channel Swim.
The swim is registered with the Channel Swim Association and to participate we have to be able to demonstrate both fitness and psychological readiness for this event. We are realising that others in Guiding, when they learn about our plans are full of admiration for our commitment and courage. We didn’t start out thinking that we’d be role models, but clearly we will not only gain much personally from Braving the Waves, we will also be able to encourage and motivate others to take on challenges for themselves. We are also spending time raising funds to make all of this happen. Within the county of Surrey West, members are holding Pool Swims to raise money for us. These are fun events to celebrate the centenary, earn badges and get wet! On March 5th the ‘Wind Water and Waves’ supper concert takes place at Surbiton Assembly Rooms. When we actually cross the channel we will swim for charity. If you would like to attend the concert or can assist financially in any way in support of our challenge we would be extremely grateful.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
