Story
October 2011: The wonderful Bouncer has very sadly passed away :-( He had the best time of his life in his forever home as a sponsor dog and Oldies Club is so grateful to his family for taking such great care of him and making his retirement so full of love and fun. We will keep this page open in his memory. Sleep tight, Bouncer.

Hi, I'm Bouncer, an 18 year old (yes, 18!) crossbreed who recently arrived in foster care with Oldies Club, a dog rescue charity which rescues and rehomes older dogs.
I’d be really grateful if you could make a donation to contribute towards my vet fees. Please read my story below to find out why I'm asking for your help ...
... After I arrived in foster care it became evident that my teeth were in a bad state and couldn't be left as they were.
Oldies Club always covers the vet bills for dogs in foster care, so I was taken to the vet to have some teeth removed. Unfortunately, due to lack of dental care my teeth were rotten through, weakening my jaw, and while the vet was operating, my jaw was fractured :-( Ouch!
Although I am 18, I am a positive chap who is coping well with life, so Oldies Club and the vet made the decision that my jaw would be wired. I was given pain killers to help me deal with the experience and I had to spend a night at the animal hospital.
Thankfully I am now back with my foster family, who are taking great care of me. Although I felt rather sick after the general anaesthetic and lost my appetite for a while, I am now enjoying my recovery food and trotting around my foster home wagging my tail.
Oldies Club doesn’t have a final cost yet as I am still receiving veterinary treatment, so I will update this page when we know more. Along with the operation and overnight stay at the vets, I am on anti-biotics for six weeks, so the costs are adding up!
Please note that should Oldies Club supporters be generous enough to donate more than is needed for my vet bill, any excess money will be directed to the charity’s general fund and used to help other older dogs in its care.
Thank you very much for thinking of me – please feel free to share my page on facebook and tell your friends, in case they’d like to make a donation to help me too.
