Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and supporting my sponsored walk on 20th October - Nepal's Day of the Dog*. I will be one of up to 50 dogs taking part - all donations to my web page will be gratefully received.

For further information please visit the website: www.kathmanduarts.org

KCAC was established, as British charity 1121118, in 2007 and opened Nepal’s first international contemporary arts centre in 2010. It has a beautiful glass-cased white walled gallery/artist in residence space within the garden of the Patan Museum. There are large grounds for installations and a thickly forested area for environmental art. KCAC gives scholarships to Nepali artists.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the Kathmandu Arts Centre. So please dig deep and donate now.

*Every year in Nepal, for one day, all dogs, including strays, are looked on with respect.  A red tika is put on the dog's forehead and a garland of flowers around its neck and it is prayed to so that it will guard the house as it guards the gates of the underworld and in so doing divert destruction away from the home.  Consequently, a donation will be made to the Kathmandu Animal Treatment Centre, a charity helping street dogs in Kathmandu - www.katcentre.org.np

About the charity

Kathmandu Contemporary Arts Centre's mission is to act as a catalyst for contemporary artists in Nepal and promote their work abroad. In 2010 KCAC established Nepal's first international contemporary arts centre in Patan and began giving scholarships to emerging Nepali artists.
