Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The reason for handing your cash over? I will be cycling from John O Groats to Lands end in October in memory of my fantastic Nan who passed away in February.
My friend Tamsin Jones will be joining me, as her Grandmother also suffered from this debilitating disease, she will also be helping to change my punctured tyres laughing at my jokes and using the fitness perspective of the cycle as training for the Paris Dakar in January. http://www.tamsinjonesdakar.co.uk/
Whilst sweating and screaming up those hills I would like to think the pain is not in vain and the money u guys put forward will help to fund the Bedfordshire Alzheimer's charity who gave lots of support for my Nan towards the end of her life and continue to help others.
The charity helps people suffering from Alzheimer's but also give valuable advice and help to friends and family who lose the people they love to this mind kidnapping disease. The charity runs several groups including my Nan's favorite the music group which has proven to give respite to patients unable to communicate due to loss of memory.
Why donate? well the money will go towards the running of the help line that is essential for sufferers and family but also to the QRD (Quality Research Dementia) which has 150 members who set strategy for research.
So please find it in your hearts to give just a little, some would say I have already lost my marbles so there is no hope for me but there are others out there who need your help.
We set off on the 14th of October and plan to do it in 11 days, Tamsin has race on the following sunday!! we will just about manage to duck inside daylight saving hopefully but will be doing DAKAR STARTS AT 4.30 AM anyway!!! eek!
