Story

Many thanks for visiting our fundraising site.  Well, what is The Bruces' Blazing Saddles all about...?

Dick Bruce died last year after a tough fight with cancer.  Much of his last few months were spent at the Alexandra Unit at the Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary and the family wanted to thank the unit for their sensitive care and attention.

The Bruces' Blazing Saddles, Joe and Rob (Dick’s son and grandson) are setting off on a mammoth cycle from John O’Groats on 24th May. The aim is to cover approximately 900 miles to Land’s End in 10 days…that's nearly 100 miles a day...hence the "Blazing Saddles".

Dick was so complimentary about the Alexandra Unit that we are proud to be raising money on their behalf.  Please give generously (by clicking on the "sponsor us now" button) and gift aid your contribution, as monies raised will ensure the unit will be able to continue providing support for the next family affected by cancer….
