Story

* Seagulls on Wheels * - Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride

The legendary Blackpool Seagulls Ice Hockey Team has reunited after 20+ years and some of the guys are swapping their skate blades for a couple of bike wheels by taking part in the Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride 2012 on Sunday 8 July.

The idea to do the ride was the brainchild of Mr Phil Kirwan of the Blackpool Seagulls and has worked hard (I use those words loosely) to build up a team which we hope will continue to grow as the weeks go on.

The team will be cycling approximately 60 miles, whatever the weather, to raise much needed funds for Brian House based in Bispham, Blackpool.

So far, and to varying degrees of success, the guys have been training energetically since the idea was borne; or at the very least they have been thinking about it in various beer gardens around the Fylde Coast!!

As the months count down and the big day approaches, it’s now up to all the teams family members, friends, Blackpool Seagulls supporters old & new, all ice hockey fans, ice skaters, Old Farts, Joe Public and supporters of Brian House to dig deep & donate to this much worthy cause.

The last thing you need is Linzi ‘pay up or else’ Hughes or Nikkie ‘Hong Kong’ Kenyon knocking on your door!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - the team raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
