It’s my 30th annual run!
Thank you for visiting my annual charity run online donation page.
Every year I have said it’s my last run – after 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years. However, after completing 29 runs – I can’t believe it – I’m still on this planet, so I’ll have to do the run again!
This internet dooberries is something I can’t get my head around (thanks guys for creating this page for me!).
We haven’t quite reached the £1,000 mark online yet from previous runs, so this is my minimum target for this year.
I hope City fans will break their piggy banks this time – every last penny you donate on here goes straight to the charity.
We have supported over 60 different charities over 29 years and raised more than £800,000.
Once again, it has been difficult to choose the charity as there are so many worthwhile causes, but the proceeds of my 30th run will go to Help for Heroes.
I have my own views about our armed forces being in Iraq and Afghanistan, but these are our young guys and girls who suffer not only fatalities but also terrible injuries.
I have been to funerals of service people on behalf of Leicester City and it seemed only right that we dedicate the 30th run to Help for Heroes.
I’m looking forward to the 90 minute challenge which is unique to Leicester City Football Club as far as my knowledge goes and don’t want to do any less than 50 laps around the pitch!
If you are coming to the game against Middlesbrough on May 2 please arrive early to cheer me on, and please give generously to the collectors on the day (in addition to making a donation online of course!)
If you can’t make the game, I hope to see you soon and please sponsor me online for as much as you can afford for such a worthwhile course.
If you do make a donation please leave me your name and email address and I'll let you know how much we have raised when we've got the grand total at the beginning of next season.
Every penny counts!
Many thanks for your support,
Birchy
