Story
Update 29th May 2011.
Many thanks to our friends Nic and Dan, who auctioned their table decoration flowers at their recent wedding reception and donated the proceeds to charity.
The Society also raises funds with used stamps. If you would like to donate yours, contact The Behcet's Syndrome Society http://www.behcets.org.uk/
Please leave a small border around the stamps
Many thanks,
Bill, John and Rosemary xx
The Pooley family and friends are taking part in the Orwell Sponsored Charity Walk, on 27th June 2010. We will be raising money for the Behcet’s Syndrome Society. Our aim is not just to raise funds, but also to raise awareness. The walk is between 3 and 25 miles. The start time is variable depending on distance intended.
Mr John Smith is also raising funds the society by ‘being a Behcet’s sufferer for a day.’ He will live the life of someone with this disease, travelling from place to place in a wheelchair, giving out information, raising awareness and collecting funds. This will take place in Scotland.
Just a few weeks to go until the sponsored walk! Thank you to everyone who has signed up for the walk and to those who have offered to help by sponsoring, donating refreshments and collecting. You can still sign up for the walk right up until the day. Online donations are accepted until September.
Update, 22nd June. Just a few days to go now! Over 30 people signed up for the walk and many more sponsoring and donating. Thanks so much to those of you have donated via this page, all very much appreciated. For your information, Dan Pooley will be on Radio Suffolk from 1pm this Friday 25th June, talking about Behcet's Disease and fundraising.
Many thanks to Dan who did a great job in his radio interview. Donations and pledges started coming in before he was offair! Thank you everyone.
Today's the day! Very well done and many thanks to everyone. Some have completed the short route and many others are still walking. It is a fantastic achievment in this heat! Some of the walkers are pictured above.
