Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!
After 41 years in the teaching profession, and 22 as a Headteacher, I am retiring in August 2008. So…. now for something completely different!
At my present school we have had contact with Great Ormond Street with, thankfully, only a small number of children. One in particular, a boy called Jay, was featured in a TV documentary about the hospital a few years ago and they did some filming in school. I know that the care and treatment he received was regarded by his parents as outstanding.
Great Ormond Street is a world leader in the treatment of children but it relies heavily on fund-raising to carry on its work. They need £50m a year – so, if my efforts (and yours) can contribute a small part of this, I’m happy!
The Inca Trail challenge is supposed to be pretty strenuous and maybe not the wisest thing for a 62 year old. None of my friends and colleagues have so far tried to put me off doing it – but maybe they’ve got their own sinister reasons! I certainly hope to be around long enough to raise my target amount, so please sponsor me for what could either be a glorious post-retirement adventure or an embarrassing postscript to my career.
Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
