Story
Hi and thanks for visiting! I'm riding the Pairs-Brest-Paris bicycle ride in August 2011. It's 1200 Kilometers in 90 hours. I have to qualify by riding a 200Km (done last weekend!) a 300Km, 400Km and 600Km before the end of June 2011, phew (the furthest I have ridden to date is 300Km)!
Latested Picture! My x-ray after the big crash! C'mon, I've put my bones on the line - You can put some cash on the line :-)
ANOTHER UPDATE:
Thanks to everyone who has donated, it means a great deal to me. It's just over two weeks to the ride and the list of things to get done pre-ride is being ticked off - I've been through a bike crisis - the bike I have worked on for this race for 6 months - I'm not happy with it and love my Specialized S-Works to bits and have decided to ride it instead. This has meant sorting out new lighting and power for the whole of the ride and a roomier saddle pack. May try to do one all night ride yet next week - ride around all night and wind up and work in the morning and then work the whole day and then ride home... just to get the feeling for sleep deprivation! Sound like fun? :-) it is to me!
UPDATE:
Things got a little weird after my 300K in that I managed to shatter my collarbone doing some silly mountain biking jump... so only 5 weeks after the operation, I did the 400K ride and the week after the 600K ride... my Dr was pretty impressed to say the least! Anyway, the qualifications are all done, my entry is accepted.. Suzanne will be seeing me off and enjoying Paris for a few days while I ride... anyway now that I know for sure that I'm doing this thing, I am officially starting the beg-a-thon. Details follow PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONATE NO MATTER HOW LITTLE BECAUSE:
As an added bonus - My company,Pitney Bowes, has agreed to match penny for penny every donation that you make! Is that cool or what! So if you pledge 1 pound, Cancer research gets 2... if you pledge £50, CR gets £100. Also by doing it through JustGiving, CR also gets the Tax you have paid on your donation. It all adds up and up and up.
Also, I am funding the total cost of my trip myself. Every penny you give goes straight to Cancer Research.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
