Story
Our team is made up on 10 AS & A Level students in a small town called Ashbourne, Derbyshire. We’ve decided that 2014 is the year to make a difference. It’s time to get off our bums and be active!
So…what better than doing a 165 Mile bike ride right?
Here are the facts:
165 Miles
Ashbourne to London
53 Miles (Roughly) Per Day
We know mad right? As you can imagine TRAINING HAS ALREADY BEGUN (December)
But just think of all those less fortunate than ourselves. Not just for those living in poverty in Africa but for people right here in the UK too. We don’t think of people being in poverty here but did you know:
£1 could provide a hot meal for a child in the UK living in extreme poverty?
and
£25 could run a sports session for disabled children in the UK, giving them the chance to play with other young people?
Now think of those in Africa and India and many other countries… could you imagine if you didn’t have any access to education? Would you be where you are now? Or fearing you and your family’s life could be cut short because you didn’t have a mosquito net?
£50 could pay for a child living in poverty in Peru to attend preschool for a whole year!
and
£5 could pay for a mosquito net to protect a mother and her baby in Africa from contracting malaria while they sleep.
Go on! Give up that one luxury item for the day and DONATE!
We have a strong team behind us, with many fundraising events taking place in the short space of time we have. As we are all in Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School Sixth Form Centre, we have easy access to help from the school.
HOWEVER we are only a small town. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Please, please, please spread the word! Get us heard! Donate your money today! Right here, right now! We can’t do it without you!
Share us on Facebook and Twitter! Tell your friends and family!
Help us raise as much as we can!
Stop sitting back. It’s time for change!
Thank you
