Story

James unfortunately passed away following a collision with a dangerous driver on 23rd December. He died while taking his early morning cycle ride, doing what he loved.
In rememberance of his life, we have reopened this page hoping to raise more money for a cause that he supported strongly during his lifetime.
We are very appreciative of any donations you are able to make.
With love from James' family x

I successfully completed the 1,940 mile tour on 1st September after a fantastic but challenging 22 days of cycling (plus a rest day in Florence).
Thank you so much for all your generous donations.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Leaving on 10th August, I will cycle nearly 2,000 miles through England, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Italy.
This is a challenging route, taking in the hilly terrain of the Ardennes, Vosges, Black Forest, Alps (notably the 2,757m high Stelvio Pass, the highest in Italy) and Apennines.
I aim to cover around 100 miles per day of cycling and am bringing a tent for accommodation.
Please feel free to visit my WordPress blog, where you can also read about a c.1,700 mile tour I undertook around England and Scotland back in 2010.
I hope to raise at least £1000 for The Stroke Association, a worthy cause which funds crucial research into stroke prevention and treatment. This is especially important to me because a close member of my family suffered a severe and debilitating stroke in her final years.
The Stroke Association: “The number of people dying from stroke in the UK has halved in the last 20 years. This is due, in part, to dramatic improvements in the way stroke is detected and treated."
I am extremely grateful for any donations you are able to offer.
