Story
November may possibly be the most charitable month of the year, and as my inability to grow sufficient facial hair refrains me from partaking in Movember, I feel that I should do my part.
As a result I’m going to swim the length of the channel before the month is over. Over the space of the next 3-4 weeks, I will swim a total of 35 km (22 miles, 1420 lengths).
You may be wondering why on earth I’m doing this, well, a great number of you will remember Matt Stein, who very sadly passed away recently. Matt was a fellow Derwent A block student, who lived with a lung transplant after a bad case of Pneumonia when he was younger. Those of you who knew Matt will know that he never let it stop him getting on with life, living every day to the absolute max. The staff at Great Ormond Street Hospital were exceptional throughout Matt’s treatment, and he was extremely grateful of the work they do there. As a result I am raising money in memory of Matt, for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
So if you could please please please find it in your hearts (and wallets) to donate to such a fantastic cause, every donation, no matter how small makes a difference.
