<p><em><span style="font-size: x-small;">"The greatest danger in life is not to take the adventure - George Mallory"</span></em><br /><br />On March 24th 2010, I began a zero emissions circumnavigation of the globe, cycling over 40,000 miles (61,000km) across 5 continents, sailing approximately 10,000 miles across 2 oceans, the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean with a little kayaking thrown in for good measure. Throughout the journey I&rsquo;ll be passing through extreme sub zero temperatures, scorching heat and face thirst, hunger and physical and mental exhaustion. The expedition will allow me to experience a variety of different cultures from every corner of the globe.</p> <p>So far i have pedalled my way across Europe to Istanbul. It hasn't all been plain sailing however. In the 9 months since i started this journey i've been hit by a car (causing me to rest for 4 months), attacked by wild dogs and even met the Mafia in Italy.&nbsp;</p> <p>Next i plan to pedal across Iran and Central Asia to China in the depths of winter.
