Story

Thanks to everyone who has supported us.

Unfortunately this will be the last entry and one that I don't take pleasure in writing. Dad died on 26 August 2009.

Rest in peace Dad

Time to post at the top of the page.....

Great news - Dad went home from hospital on 8 July 2009. That means the beards will be off on Saturday 11 July in a special beardoff event in St Helens. More details to follow.

Thanks to everyone who's donated and offered support - and laughed as well. It's all been worthwhile.

Mike, John, Paul and Ken - and of course - H

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Prostate Cancer Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!

Our Dad, Harold Glover has recently been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. He has also recently suffered kidney failure which nearly resulted in his death.

Fortunately the staff at the ICU in Whiston Hospital performed magic and saved his life.

So his sons, Mike, John, Paul and Ken have decided to try and raise some money by growing beards and not shaving until he is out of hospital, which hopefully won't be too long but long enough to grow some facial hair ;o) The plan is to shave off our beards at some mass gathering or other at Mum and Dad's house and try and get local press involved to raise the profile of the Prostate Cancer Charity, which is the charity Dad has chosen.

He's also decided to remain unshaven until he comes out of hospital and our sister Margaret's partner, Karl, has decided to join in, at least until his boss tells him to shave (booo to Karl's boss we say).

So on behalf of us boys, and our sisters, Sue, Margaret, Barbara and Julie, not forgetting our much missed and loved sister Lynda, all of Dad's grandchildren, nephews, nieces and of course, our wonderful Mum Betty thank you very much in advance for your donation.

So at the end of week 2, it's all getting rather itchy but the total is going up - thanks everyone

Why beards I hear you ask. Well, I don't think we could manage a hundred metre sprint between us never mind a marathon!!
