WE DID IT! - 6887km in 27 days.
Thanks for all your support and generosity. It's wonderful to see the fundraising total go up and up. We're exhausted but enjoyed (nearly) every minute of the challenge.
The impact of the floods in Pakistan has been devastating with 20 million people affected including 2 million left homeless. In the aftermath there is now a serious risk to survivors from waterborne diseases, such as cholera, which can spread as a result of contaminated surface and drinking water.
We want to help and need your support!
Throughout September we are undertaking an ultra-triathlon aiming to cover a distance of 6774km, equivalent to the entire land boundary of Pakistan, on bikes, treadmills and in the pool to help raise vital funds for the DEC floods appeal. This means that each day the team will have to cover over 170km cycling, 43km running and 6.5km swimming to stay on target to complete the triathlon before October arrives.
We hope you can see that this is not an easy challenge, so we’d be really grateful if you could show your support by digging deep into your pockets and giving all you can to an urgently important cause. If you are a UK taxpayer please remember to tick the gift aid box to increase the value of your donation by 28p in every pound committed.
The money raised will help fund the life saving work in Pakistan of the DEC’s Members which are the lead UK aid agencies and their partners.
We will keep you informed of our progress with photos and updates throughout the month, but in the meantime...
Thanks so much from all the team
