I'm a 44 year old guy, who has been getting fit over the past few years and am trying to raise over £10000 for Martin House Children's Hospice at Boston Spa, Near Wetherby. So far I have ran London, Manchester, Edinburgh and the Yorkshire Marathon (twice),  the Great North Run (twice) and I'll be running the Yorkshire Marathon for a third time in October 2017.

Being a keen fan of MMA, despite back issues (following breaking it in a head on car crash), I dipped my toes in the water and had a two hour one to one training session with UFC fighters John Hathaway. http://www.kimura.se/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/john-hathaway.jpg / http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hathaway many thanks to John for helping me with this fundraising challenge.

With Brad Pickett's help, we ran a three hour MMA seminar at BigKats Gym in Harrogate, with all proceeds going to this site. Thanks to Brad and the BigKat coaches for their help.

In addition to the above challenges, I had setup a number of  very successful charity auctions via the "Auction of Promises" website at http://auctionofpromises.com/i.aspx?a=yyddcyx and had some fantastic support from some great folks (and huge support from fighters and companies involved with the contact sports) by way of ticket donations and signed memorabilia.

Donations have been received via cash, this site and www.virginmoneygiving.com/barrysmarathons

***WHY AM I DOING THIS?***

Martin House provides care and support, free of charge, to families in which there is a child or children with a short life expectancy. Its aim is to provide a home from home with a lively friendly atmosphere where children and their families can enjoy the best quality of life. Please take a few minutes to look over their website for more information about their cause www.martinhouse.org.uk

As some of you will know, in April 2011, I ran my first ever Marathon in an attempt to raise £5000 for Martin House. With everyone's kind donations, you all managed to help me get through it and we raised a total of £5092.18.... Thank you again to everyone who had helped me reach my goal for such great charity.

Please help motivate me by sparing a few bob towards a local charity that provide so much support and help to the poor unfortunate children who are suffering with a terminal illness, and their families who have to cope through these extremely difficult times.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

You can also donate via JustGiving Text, by texting either BAZR73 £5 or BAZR73 £10 to 70070 from your mobile phone.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you
