Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

I just want to say a massive personal thanks to everyone who dug into their pockets for this. We managed to exceed our fundraising target pretty much on the day of the racer itself. This is a huge achievement as i only thought we'd raise about £1000.

You will be pleased to know that we all completed the race even though there seemed to be some kind on monsoon that hit london for the day.

Aching knees and joints aside we were just really chuffed to be able to do this for Adrian.

If you are sponsoring post-race - thank you as well.

AD sadly passed away on Wednesday 20th August after fighting Leukaemia for about 20 months. His bravery and courage in the face of such adversity was truly inspirational and those of you who have followed his story would, i am sure, have found this to be the case.

His main aim was simple - to educate our youngsters about what it entails to be a Bone Marrow Donor and then get hopefully see an increase in the number of donors that are registered.

Ad spent every single remaining second trying to make sure that everyone out there got the same chance he did - he was given a Bone Marrow Donor match and it gave him another 18 months of life. Without it he would not have been able to raise the profile of Bone Marrow Donation and dymystify the whole process.

This is, and continues to be a reality but it needs to be a continual process and we owe it to AD to make sure this does happen.

You can catch up with his story here -http://baldyblog.freshblogs.co.uk/

A very proud friend,

Olie
