Story
25th May 2011 - The total raised is now an astounding £1,345, following some additional donations received in rememberance of my grandad, Jim Ryan - I know he was really proud of my trip to Cambodia and how Aziza's Place is giving the children and their families a better future, so thank-you to those individuals on behalf of him and my family.
Thanks again to everyone for helping raise such an impressive amount for Aziza's Place.
3rd April 2011 - A few thank-you's...
Following a very enjoyable evening where the Rotary Club of Southport Links were kind enough to give me 30 minutes to talk about Cambodia and Aziza's Place, they were then very generous and donated £550, THANK-YOU ROTARY!
Secondly, a massive thank-you to the Tomanek family for their generosity allowing me to meet my £500 target for personal donations, THANK-YOU!!!!
I'm absolutely made up with the total being so high so finallyTHANK-YOU EVERYONE for your generosity. Aziza's Place really does mean a lot to me and it's very moving that you have all helped support me raise some money to help their cause. I cannot thank-you enough. I have now increased the overall target to £1200 and am hoping to get a few more donations until 30th April when I'll stop constantly nagging everyone I know! Happy Mother's Day to you all!
26th March 2011: For the Aziza's Place documentary film, made by the children, please go to - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxkTAzNHFc0
11th February 2011: On 14th February, Aziza's Place, a home and learning centre for 21 amazing children in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, celebrates its 4th anniversary.
Within 4 years the organisation has made astounding progress - children who could not speak a word of English are now fluent, kids who had never seen a computer are now not just competent in microsoft office, but are planning careers in web design, whilst their extra-curricular activities allows them to enter karate competitions, football tournaments, and perform on stage with creative music and dance arrangements. The real show of success though is the confidence that shows on all their faces, representing a huge change from the malnourished individuals who first arrived. For the good work to continue though, funding needs to be available.
Having had the pleasure of volunteering here, I can guarantee that every penny donated goes where it should, with the children being the ones who see the benefits. As my personal thank-you to such a moving and worthwhile cause I would like to raise as much as possible, and I am asking everyone I know to donate as much as they can afford, no matter how small, to help Aziza's Place continue to make a big difference to a very special group of children.
21 thanks for all your generosity
Hayley xx
