Story

Dear Family, Friends, Colleagues, and Acquaintances,

I would like to offer you the opportunity to confirm to everyone how generous you are without even having to move from the seat you are sitting in. ;)

Not only that, but I will repay you for this act of altruism and kindness by cycling on the 13th of September 2015 in the Prince’s Trust Palace-to-Palace Bike ride. Now despite the fact that, as many of you will know about me, I get really scared just crossing a busy road, I will put that to one side and cycle for not 1, not 2, but all 45 miles of the route. Promise.

Now why is it, you may ask, that you get to come out of this smelling of roses, and I get to sweat in your honour? Well, I have recently joined Xerox who are proud sponsors of the Prince’s Trust, and in my first year in the company I have joined with many of my colleagues in signing up for this event.

Together you and I can raise some money for this wonderful cause and I would really appreciate if you could all donate whatever you can.

I get to jump back on a bike again after more than 15 years and you get to help the Prince’s Trust keep doing all this important and amazing work:

·         Around one in five young people in the UK are not in work, education or training.  Youth unemployment costs the UK economy £10 million a day in lost productivity, while youth crime costs £1 billion every year.

·         3 in 4 young people supported by the Trust move into work, education or training.

The stories of those who have been helped by the Trust are touching and inspiring. Just look on the Trust’s website to see for yourself what your help will bring about.

So please, help me raise some money for the Prince’s Trust. No matter how small.

“Sometimes when we are generous in small, barely detectable ways, it can change someone’s life forever”
