We fund research and raise awareness to create a world free from meningitis

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

This summer we completed a cycle ride across France, starting in La Rochelle and finishing near Marseille. We cycled for 9 days, averaging about 100 kilometres each day. The ride included some very challenging routes and also some fabulous French countryside.

All the donations made to this page will go directly to the Meningitis Research Foundation, which is a charity that fights death and disability from meningitis and associated infections by funding vital scientific research. Since it was founded in 1989, the charity has awarded 122 research grants, leading to many advances in the prevention, detection and treatment of meningitis and septicaemia. This charity is one close to all of our hearts after a fellow student from Oundle School passed away from a Meningococcal disease on a school trip last December.

We would be very grateful for a donation of any amount. If you would like to know more details about the trip please feel free to e-mail oliver.ms@oundleschool.org.uk. Also, if you are interested, find out how we got on at atlantictomedcycle.blogspot.com/.

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
