Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My wife Liliana and I have been planning this trip for quite a while now. Ours is a year-long self-supported and self-funded cycling tour from the UK to Japan, across Europe and Asia. It is both a joint adventure and a personal journey, a holiday and a physical challenge, a trip of a lifetime that will surely change us :). We'll be posting news and photos of our progress in our website ataleoftwobikes.
I work on image analysis, and for the last three years I have been working as a researcher at Nottingham on a multicentre project (of which the Children's Brain Tumour Research Centre is part of) to improve our understanding of child tumours through the analysis of Magnetic Resonance Images (MRI) -The University of Nottingham's very own Sir Peter Mansfield won a Nobel prize for his contributions to the field of MRI in 2003 - and how they relate to tumour genetics and biology.
So when we heard that this year the money raising effort's of the University's Vice-Chancellor and the Life Cycle charity would be directed towards Children's Brain Tumour Research we thought we couldn't let the opportunity pass to link it together with our trip and hopefully help them a little in the fundraising efforts.
