Hello and thank you for visiting my Justgiving page.

Most of you will know me, if not hopefully the following will explain who I am, what I am doing, why and for who.

My name is Tim or you may know me as Tank, I am 30 years old, married and have a son (Noah) who will be 2 years old in April 2012.  I have struggled with my weight for most of my life and have managed to let myself get to 28 stone and 7lbs (180.6kg). My weight stops me from living the life I want, it puts my son at risk of growing up without a dad or having a dad who can do all the things a father should do with his son.

So I have drawn a line in the sand and said enough is enough, I have set myself the challenge to lose the weight, get fit and enjoy life.  Over the next 6 months I am aiming to lose 5 stone (38.1kg) through diet and exercise. I started losing weight as of 23rd February 2012 and I plan to reach my goal by 23rd August 2012

So who am I doing this for? Firstly myself , I want to be around to enjoy my son as he grows up, I want to be a better dad and husband. I love the outdoors and want to spend more time walking the hills and camping in the woods.  Secondly I am doing this for my son, he deserves a fun life full of excitement and energy and he needs a dad he can be proud of. Finally I am going to be doing this to raise money for Adoption UK, for people who do not know this charity Adoption UK provides adoptive parents with the support they need to help adopted children thrive in a safe and loving family.  Please visit their website http://www.adoptionuk.org/ and see for yourself what work they do.
