Story
In June 2014, my daughter Emily was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour known as a craniopharygioma. She underwent two long and difficult operations at Great Ormond Street Hospital, followed by a six-week course of Proton beam therapy in Jacksonville, Florida.
Thanks to the wonderful treatment and care she has been fortunate to receive, Emily is now making remarkable progress and enjoying her first year at school. Great Ormond Street continue to give her, and us, so much support - not only with regular clinics, but through the advice, care and interest of the many committed professionals who work there. Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity does fantastic work raising money which not only helps fund the best possible medical care for children in need, but also to provide for families all those things which make a difficult situation more manageable - accommodation, play facilities, catering facilities and support staff, for example.
In running the 2015 London Marathon for GOSHCC, and through the great generosity of so many friends and supporters, I was privileged to raise £20,595.84. If I can raise even one third of that - £7,000 - in the 2016 race, it will make a real difference to the charity and will be another small token of gratitude for all the wonderful work they do.
Please do help if you can! Thank you.
