Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
In September 2010 I will be trekking 5985m/19,340ft up to the rooftop of Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro, in aid of Velindre Cancer Centre, and in memory of my mum and dad. This will be a huge challenge involving extremes of temperature (30 degrees at the base and -25 at the summit) long days walking and the big killer... the altitude. Not to mention lack of hair drying and straightening facilities and having to be smelly for 6 days! (think Maggie Thatcher and James May's lovechild, and you're just about there as far as the hair is concerned!)
In the run up to this trek, I will be taking part in a number of events to obtain sponsorship for Velindre Cancer Centre, and three weeks after doing the trek I will be running Cardiff half marathon for the same cause.
Just some of the events that have taken place are...
Santa's little helper - I was an elf for the weekend!
The Wedding Dress Walk - me and 3 brides headed up South Wales' highest mountain in wedding dresses
The Bog Snorkelling World Championships - as the back end of the worlds first bog snorkelling pantomime horse!
Velindre Cancer Centre is the largest non-surgical cancer hospital in Wales, providing Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy and other specialised anti-cancer treatments for over half the people in Wales.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Velindre Nhs Trust Charitable Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please, please, please donate, every penny counts!!!!
Love ya lots Jelly Tots!!!!
