About the Archie Foundation ...
Every year the archie Foundation impacts on the healthcare of more than 130,00 sicke children. They but specialist equipment, support families, create amazing hospital environments, enhance staff training, buy toys, fund research, provide specialist staff and respond in emergencies. The money raised from this challenge will go directly to Tayside Children's hospital in Ninewells and will contribute to building new state of art children's operating theatres (www.archiefoundationhome.org.uk)
About the Archie Mountain Challenge ....
Although all modern maps are metric, there is no classification of mountains in Scotland based on a metric measurement, so we are making one! From now on we'll be (unofficially!) calling every mountain that is more than 1km high an "ARCHIE". We are going to climb them all this Summer , travelling between them on foot or bike, and taking a GPS locator to prove we've done it.
