Dear Friends
Camilla and I are now back in London having just completed a rather unusual challenge...
On 29 January to 4 February 2009, the two of us took part in the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique in a 1957 Alfa Giulietta. The rally was fantastic fun, but not in the least bit easy.
We started in Turin and on the first night had to drive for 20 hours in what was called the 'Concentration Leg'. I was the driver and Camilla was the navigator; a difficult job which involved planning the route, reading the trip metre and not getting car sick! We were in 103rd position out of over 330 cars, however on the last day we very unfortunately blew a tyre and subsequently got lost, causing us to finish one hour late which meant we were disqualified. We did however complete the whole rally and in doing so raised the awareness and much needed cash fo Help for Heroes.
We were sponsored by Supreme Foodservice and the car was donated by the Scuderia del Portello which meant that ALL our costs were covered so the money donated went straight to the charity. We still however have a long way to go before we reach our target of £15000 so ask you to dig deep for this fantastic cause.
We are aiming high, but any donation is welcome so please give whatever you can.
Lots of love and thanks to you all
A-L & Camilla xx
