Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My intrepid colleagues at Michael Page and I are taking a dastardly and dangerous route over the peaks in Yorkshire on June 14th 2014.
The average time is 12 hours... I'm aiming at 7! And it's not easy besides, here's why:
1. I have to go shopping for new shoes, because my vintage heeled DKNYs Trainers gave me blisters when I did 4 miles.
2. I have to go north of Watford Gap, so there's a chance I'll miss a couple of days of sunshine - making me 22.7% down on the year's total in the U.K. and thus vitamin D deficient until next year.
3. ...Did I mention the 25 miles in 7 hours over some mountains?
But it's worth it to help Alzheimer's Research UK, who fund world-class research to prevent, treat and cure dementia.
Did you know 163,000 new cases of dementia are recorded every year in the U.K.? That's one every 3 minutes and 12 seconds. Alzheimer's Research UK have pioneering scientists who have been behind some of the biggest breakthroughs in dementia research. Their pioneering research is bringing us closer to a future without dementia.
Any money you can offer would be greatly appreciated by me, as I pant up inclines higher than your average London Tube escalator (without the helpful escalation!) but even more by the thousands of individuals who will benefit from the tireless work of Alzheimer's Research UK.
Thank you. See you on the other side (!)
