Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. During 2005 I will be competing in the Great Manchester run (10km) and the Great North run (Half Marathon) to raise money for the British Red Cross. Before 2005, my only running running experiance was the 5 mile Bramhall fun run when I was about 14... that's 10 years ago now!!!!!!!!!!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The British Red Cross will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
If you want to have a laugh and see my up hill struggle of going from running for the bus standard, to running the Great North Run, in just 8 months, you can keep track of my progress on the following web page which is updated weekly...

Any sponship, no matter the amount will really help. The Red Cross is active in this country not just abroad, an extract from the UK shopping list is shown below:
40p - Could provide 1 bandage for students to learn how to dress injuries
£5.00 - Could pay for a volunteer to make a home visit
£10.00 - Could provide 1 complete First Aid kit for use in an emergency by a trained Red Cross volunteer.
£20.00 - Could hire a community centre to run a young people's drop-in centre for an evening
£30.00 - Could pay for a pager so that we can get in touch with a Fire Victim Support volunteer
£50.00 - Could pay for 1 commode or 2 back rests to support someone in bed
£150.00 - Could provide a baby resuscitation dummy for students to learn how to revive a baby
Thanks for your time in reading this and any support you are able to give.
Cheers
Andy
