Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Following my 2009 challenge of running two half marathons, I've decided to push myself even further in 2010 by running a full marathon. I've been an avid 'armchair participant' in the London Marathon for the past few years, so I thought: Why not actually run it?

This time, I am running on behalf of RNID, the Royal National Institute of Deaf people. As you may know, I have had a hearing loss since birth. I've never let it affect me, and I consider myself much more fortunate than the millions of people in the UK who suffer from severe hearing loss. In fact, 1 in 7 people suffer some degree of hearing loss.

RNID campaign to raise awareness of hearing loss, while also providing advice and guidance on all aspects of hearing loss from how to communicate with a deaf person, to helping employers, to advice on how to protect your own hearing and how to live with a person who is hard of hearing or deaf.

Your donation will help RNID continue their valuable work.
