I will be taking part in the FC United/MedEquip4kids Minithon on Sunday 19th October to help raise funds for FC United and MedEquip4kids with all my sponsorship money split between these two organisations helping them further the work that they do.

MedEquip4kids is a Manchester based charity that helps sick and injured children in and out of hospital.

FC United was created in 2005 as a community football club to address the concerns of Manchester United fans about the changes that had taken place in the football club over the previous decade. The board of MUFC was less concerned with the views of supporters and more focused on demands from big business investors in the city; prices rocketed and the fixture list was chopped and changed to suit a TV audience as little thought was given to the match-going fan. All this culminated in the Glazer’s takeover in 2005 which landed the club with a debt of over £600 million to be paid off by supporters through hiking ticket prices even further.

FC United seeks to provide an alternative for fans refusing to be taken for granted by those who run our clubs and an affordable option for those who can no longer afford to go to watch top flight football.
